We met in person at the library for a long time, then moved to just posting on Ravelry and now we're all set for our first video meeting.
Since it's being hosted through a county library system, no idea who's hosting or who we'll see. But the site is loaded, you might say loaded for bear, but not in front of Fred perhaps.
And we'll see if my system refrains from freezing this time. It's like a tired toddler when a meeting goes on too long.
Well, it did freeze but didn't crash and the sound held up, and it was fun. Five librarians and me. Three of the librarians are knitters or crocheters, though, so we had a good time. The hostess started the proceedings then turned off her camera to do something else.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it went all right
ReplyDeleteI tried the Shibori dye technique I read about on your blog. I like the possibilities, and, the tee shirt looks good. It was lot easier than I feared it would be. When the tee dries, I'll post a photo on my blog.
This is great to hear. Yes, please show us your results.
DeleteI'm glad you had fun and it didn't crash! It sounds like fun and maybe with time will continue to be even more fun for all!
ReplyDeleteI liked it because I was seeing a couple of people I know well from meetings in person, and seeing them was great. I'm more resistant to invitations to groups where I don't know the people and their conversational style.
DeleteGlad all went well. I have tried nothing like video-ing.
ReplyDeleteIt's a treat to talk without masks. Especially if you lipread as much as I do.
DeleteAn overly sensitive Fred, perhaps? You are too funny.
ReplyDeleteWell, he knows it's a hunting reference, and a bear who likes knitted boots and has a toy bear is likely to be a sensitive soul!
DeleteI'm a lip reader too so an 'in person' meeting is so much better. Haven't had any of those sorts of meetings as yet but perhaps our quilt guild will get something going in the fall. Our meetings have been postponed until at least January and I suspect that will be extended until June when we normally break for the summer.
