Landscape, almost there



Here's the first piece using crewel yarn weft and a cotton warp, on the Hokett loom. I'm quite liking it. About another inch to go.

Then on to saori weaving with the new rhl, rigid heddle loom. After hauling out my handspun and possibly dyeing, or plying with other threads. Rainy weather, so no hankering to be outside.

  1. Another new word - saori. Definitely expanding my vocabulary (even though I haven't a clue what saori even is!).

  2. It's Japanese, and refers to freeform spontaneous work,not the carefully planned and executed traditional weaving.
